Disciplinary Rules For The Students

These rules are by no means exhaustive. They may be amended, modified, or annulled as and when the management feels it necessary for the smooth and effective functioning of the school. Ignorance of these rules is not an excuse for their breach.
1) The School Student’s Handbook is an essential part of their outfit. Therefore, it should be brought to the school on all working days. If it is mutilated or lost, it must be replaced immediately.
2) All students must attend school with their lessons well prepared.
3) They shall be obedient and respectful to the teachers and conform strictly to the school’s rules, regulations, and traditions.
4) All should be present for the assembly and maintain perfect order.
5) During Prayer and the National Anthem, students shall keep absolute silence and maintain a reverential posture. They shall also keep silence and decorum in the classrooms, library, office, and corridors. Disorderly conduct like shouting, whistling, and hooting on the school premises must be avoided.
6) All should take honest pride in keeping the school premises clean. No bits of paper or waste materials shall be thrown in and around. Be cautious not to litter the classrooms and the campus.
7) Students must speak English in school.
8) Students shall consider the cleanliness of dress and person as essential virtues.
9) Students attending the school should wear the prescribed uniform, washed and pressed, shoes well cleaned and polished, nails pared, and hair trimmed and neatly arranged. They shall also wear the prescribed badges, belts, etc. Habitual slovenliness will not be tolerated, and they may be punished even with exclusion from the class.
10) If students damage any school property by accident or otherwise, they will make good the loss. Writing on the walls and furniture and disfiguring them are offenses that will be punished with fines. Anyone who notices something damaged should report the matter to the class teacher or Principal.
11) Exemption from P.T. or games will be given only on producing a medical certificate.
12) To avoid accidents and injuries to oneself and others, no students shall bring razor blades, sharp instruments, explosives, and the like to the school.
13) The student’s name, class, and section should be written on all their belongings.
14) A person is judged by their manners. Every student, therefore, shall always greet their teachers and elders warmly wherever they meet them, in school or outside.
15) All students shall cheerfully obey their parents and teachers, giving them due respect and regard, and accept their guidance and corrections with gratitude. Challenging the authority of the principal or teachers will be considered a breach of conduct.
16) Besides the textbooks and the library books, no other books, newspapers, magazines, comics, etc., are to be brought to the school without the principal’s permission.
17) The principal has the right to control all correspondence that comes to the students in the school.
18) Calling names and using abusive language are grave offenses. Similarly, smoking and using intoxicants are forbidden.
19) Students who, in the opinion of the school authorities, repeatedly violate school discipline or whose conduct is not in keeping with the moral tone of the school or engage in anti-school activities or whose activities are detrimental to the objectives of De Paul School are liable to be expelled. Parents will be informed before such action is taken.
20) All students are to attend school on the reopening day after the summer, Puja, and Christmas holidays. Every absentee will have to pay a fine of Rs100/- for the reopening day and Rs.25/- for every subsequent day, including Saturdays and Sundays. No excuse will be entertained.
21) All students are to be present for official functions like Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, Annual day, etc.; absence will be punishable with a fine of Rs.100/- per day.
22) Late coming is not permitted. Those who are late will be allowed to enter school only after the assembly, and they will be fined Rs. 20/- per day. ID Card will be seized, and it will be returned only to the parents.
23) The names of those children absent without leave for three consecutive days will be struck off the rolls, and re-admission is left to the principal’s discretion. The leave application is to be submitted within three days.
24) Students should not join political or communal organizations and cannot participate in political and communal activities. They should also absolutely abstain from all activities detrimental to the nation’s unity and integrity.
25) Students cannot drive any motor vehicle on the school premises.
26) Every student must look after their belongings. No student should have a large amount of money or other valuable articles with them. Ornaments or jewelry of any kind is not allowed in the school. The school authorities will not be responsible for money and things lost.
27) Students are not allowed to receive visitors in the school without the principal’s permission.
28) If a student wishes to represent any other institution/body/club etc. at any function or wishes to participate in any tournament/match etc., he/she must get prior permission from the principal.
29) Permission for the following also must be obtained from the principal.
(a) To make collections.
(b) To organize picnics, parties, and meetings.
(c) To leave the school premises during school hours.
(d) To give presents to the members of the staff or to hold meetings in their honor.
(e) To organize and conduct matches, debates, competitions, and the like.
30) Students are strictly forbidden to bring mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to school. If anyone is caught, the gadgets will be returned only at the time of T.C.
31) Students should maintain absolute silence in corridors and staircases.
32) Forging the signature of the parent or teacher, altering marks, etc., will be taken seriously.
33) No gift/donation to the teachers is allowed.
34) No student shall leave the school premises during school hours without the prior permission of the principal. Any student who leaves school early for any reason will be treated as half-day leave.
35) Students are not permitted to enter any classroom other than their own unless accompanied or permitted by a teacher. 36) Unless notified, everyone should vacate the classrooms during recess.
37) During the absence of the teachers, the class leader will be responsible for the order and discipline of the class.
38) Unconventional and long hairstyles are strictly prohibited.
39) Fancy and sporty watches are not permissible for the students.
40) Students shall arrive at the school at least 10 minutes before the warning bell for the assembly. The school gate will be closed at the stroke of the first bell.
41) No tuition should be arranged with our teachers. Anyone found guilty will be punished. It may even lead to the dismissal of the student from the school.

 

SCHOOL LIBRARY:

1) Silence is a must in the library.
2) Books issued are to be properly cared for and to be returned on the due date.
3) A fine of Rs.25 /- per day will be charged after the expiry of the due date if the book is not returned.
4) If the date of return happens to be a holiday, it remains postponed till the next working day.
5) One can borrow only one book at a time, and that too for a week.
6) Absence is not an excuse for the delay in the return of the books.
7) In case of loss or damage of books, the full cost of the book is to be deposited. A fine may also be imposed.
8) All sorts of markings in the library books are strongly forbidden, and violations will be fine.
9) Everyone should examine the books carefully as soon as they are issued and report to the librarian if there is any mark of damage.
10) One-page summary of the book read is to be written and given to the librarian.
