ADMISSION POLICY OF THE SCHOOL
De Paul School is one of the units of the Vincentian Orissa Society, a minority institution registered under Article 30 (I) of the Constitution of India. Therefore, Admissions will be granted to students on a first-come, first-served basis up to category number 3, and the others will be selected randomly (lot system).
1) Candidates who are Catholics / Christians
2) Candidates who are siblings of students studying in the school
3) Candidates who are Children of the School Employees
4) Candidates who are Children of the Army / Police / CRPF Personnel (8 seats only)
5) Others
Note: – All candidates who apply for admission will be admitted as per the above order. If some seats are left after completing the above category 1 to 4, a random selection will be made for others. The category of students who belong to 1 to 3 is eligible to be included in the category mentioned below. Candidates who belong to the following category should apply for admission in the month of October.
1) 15% of the seats for Children belonging to Disadvantaged Groups (ST / SC / Homeless)
2) 10% of the seats for Children belonging to the Weaker section (BPL Card Holders)
3) Students are ordinarily admitted at the beginning of the academic year, which commences in March. Exceptions to the above rule may be made at the sole discretion of the school authorities. In case of fresh admission on exceptional grounds to any class, however, school fees will be charged from the beginning of the school year even though the child is admitted at any other time. Nobody can claim admission as a matter of right, and the school authorities can refuse admission without assigning any reason thereof.
4) Age limit for admission to play school is a minimum of three years and a maximum of four years. Further, every child seeking admission must be introduced in person to the principal by his/her parents/legal guardians and must pass an entrance examination if the principal deems it necessary.
5) Parents who wish to admit their children shall apply for the same in the prescribed application form obtainable from the school office.
6) Parents whose children are selected for admission should fill up and present the admission form together with the Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and other necessary documents from the school he/she last attended. Students who come from a state outside West Bengal should have their T.C. counter-signed by the Education officer of that place.
7) Name and date of birth endorsed by a competent civil authority are to be submitted at the time of the first admission. Once entered in the admission register, this will not be altered.
8) Application for T.C. along with the T.C. fee (and postage whenever it is necessary) should be paid at the office by the parents a minimum of seven days before the T.C. is to be issued.
9) T.C. will be issued only after all the dues are cleared.
10) The last day to apply for T.C. is the last working day before the start of the Annual Exam. If applied after the 1st installment of the following year will have to be paid.
10) School authorities have the right to refuse admission or continuation of studies to any candidate/student whose conduct, attendance, or progress in studies is unsatisfactory, such as:
(a) Behaviour problem.
(b) Moral breach considered to be serious by the school authority.
(c) Involving in activities that are detrimental to the unity, integrity, and secular spirit of the country.
(d) Constant weakness in studies.
(e) Irregularity in payment of fees.
(f) Habitual late coming.
